The biggest cricket tournament of the year, the Indian Premier League 2020 is all set to barge in the lives of the cricket fraternity. Meanwhile, the commencement date and the date for the finale of the tournament have already been announced as 29th March and 24th May, respectively, BCCI is yet to unveil the complete schedule. The schedule was supposed to be released on February 4 but things have been getting delayed over time.
Now, with the rumors of BCCI postponing the start date of the tournament, the delay has turned out to be frustrating as the fans are eagerly waiting for the IPL fantasy league to kick-start. Let’s understand why is there so much of delay in releasing the IPL 2020 schedule.
Accommodation Becoming an Issue
The first and the foremost reason behind the major delay in the announcement of IPL 2020 schedule, is the accommodation issues. A lot of reports have been doing the round on internet which are stating that a few of the re-planned conclaves and conferences situated in the state of Kolkata and Delhi encountered some accommodation problems during the second and third week of April. The issue became a major reason behind the improper planning and further led to the delay in the creation and announcement of the final schedule for upcoming IPL Fantasy League.
Rajasthan Royals & Their Guwahati Demand
The other situation that turned out to be a hurdle in the settling of IPL 2020 fixture was Rajasthan Royals’ wish of shifting their home ground to Guwahati from SMS Stadium of Jaipur, Rajasthan for a few games. Meanwhile, nothing has been officially finalized and announced as of now in this matter; a PIL has been filed. It would be interesting to see whether the Royals will be allowed to shift their home ground to Guwahati or will they have to settle for their old place only.
All Starts & Player Unavailability
The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League is expected to be full of twists and turns. The All Stars game scheduled to be held before the commencement of the series had left the 8 IPL teams a bit baffled. Further to which, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has committed to send a few strong Indian players to Bangladesh for the upcoming Asia XI and World XI games scheduled to happen on March 18 and March 21.
This means the teams will have to release quite a few players and sending some strong players for another series right before the start of the biggest cricket event would mean taking unwanted injury risks.
